My wife and I popped in for a relatively early Friday evening dinner (6:15) and the place was filled with great energy! Greeted by the lovely hostess Claudia, we knew we picked the right place. With a genuinely warm smile we were brought to our table and were immediately were greeted by our equally lovely and knowledgeable server Gabby. She walked us thru the menu and nightly specials and took our drink orders. After a few minutes she returned and asked if we had any questions which we didn’t, we knew what we wanted! My wife started with a perfect Ceasar salad and I ordered the duck liver mousse. Both were superb. Main courses were duck confit on papardelle and gnocchi bolognese, both also superb. I recommend Duck Press to everyone in search of excellent food, service and atmosphere. Top notch. We are now regulars.
Loved our first visit to Duck Press! We sat at the bar. Drinks and service were excellent. We had grilled calamari app, duck breast and fluke entrees. The food is delicious and felt sophisticated. Love the overall cozy atmosphere. Will definitely return.
We celebrated our 55th anniversary last night at the Duck Press in Wakefield. It was our first time there and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and our server Garrett was so attentive to every detail. I had oysters & the braised ribs French onion soup & my husband had the steak frites prepared to perfection. The only drawback is that the room is small and therefore a little noisy. But that will not deter us from coming back and enjoying the Duck Press again. It is now at the top of our list as one of our favorite restaurants. Thank you for an enjoyable celebration.
Fantastic gem in Wakefield. Can't wait to return. The aracini duck/berry rice balls were awesome, the mushroom pate on toasted bread, and of course the duck, were perfectly cooked medium rare and all tasted fantastic. Our waitress Gabby was A++ and all the staff were gracious hosts.
Incredible food. From rhe decadent homemade chips with blue cheese fondue, bacon and scallions and even a little chili crisp. The decadent French onion soup with actual beef and sherry. The ridiculous ( in a good way) grilled calamari with parsnip puree and the amazing main dish of Duck breast, cooked oerfectly with an amazing cranberry jus and celeriac puree and more duck with cabbage. Garrett our server was excellent and the food and drinks came out in a timely fashion. Highly recommend!
Last night my husband and I went to Duck Press for the first time. The food was outstanding!! The bolognese was outstanding. I’ve tried quite a few versions and this one topped them all. I can’t wait to go back. The scallop appetizer special was also delicious. My husband had the mushroom tagliatelle pasta as his entree. It was little plain for me, but he really enjoyed it. We love that all the pasta is homemade. We will be back soon! The service was great too! I’ll definitely be spreading the word!
The duck breast is so tender and delicious and the clam with pork belly is surprisingly good. The onion soup and clam chowder soup are big portions and very good. I didn’t have room to eat the brisket sandwich and had it the next day for lunch and it was delicious. Excellent food and service. .
Food was delightful. Visited during restaurant week and had the arancini, crispy duck and creme brulee. All three were fantastic. A member of our party had the garlic parm wings and they said it was the best they ever had! Easy to make a reservation, street parking and parking lot available. Garrett is a great server. Highly recommend!
