What more can you ask for, eating beautifully prepared food in a stunning location. We were looked after so well by the lovely, friendly staff, a special mention to Chloe for her exceptional service and great sense of humour. A very clean and well cared for restaurant, it’s great to see sparkling clean windows which showcase the view.
Amazing food. Great potential with city light views. But the lighting is terrible (way too bright). It would be better with dimmer, warm-toned light. Create an atmosphere more elegant, intimate, and comfy.
On a recent trip to Mount Gambier with the wife we came across Thyme in the lakes. What an absolutely beautiful meal. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were amazing. Great views over the town. Nice cosy place and a beautiful atmosphere. There was a celebration happening while we were there and it wasn’t loud. Big space. Great service and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
Thyme at the Lakes – Mount Gambier Cocktails – 3/5 Appreciate the staff for replacing a cocktail we didn’t like, but overall, they need improvement in flavor balance. Entree – 5/5 The Honeyed Kataifi Avocado Prawn was a perfect combination of crispy kataifi, tender prawn, and creamy avocado—full of flavor and beautifully presented. Mains – 4/5 The Greek Lamb Rack and Angus Eye Fillet were cooked well and packed with flavor, but for the price, there was room for a little more refinement. Service & Extras – 5/5 Staff were welcoming and attentive. The complimentary zucchini soup shot was a fantastic touch. Ambience & View – 4/5 The city view was lovely, adding to the atmosphere. Overall: Great food, friendly service, and a pleasant setting. A bit pricey, but a solid dining experience in Mount Gambier. Would recommend! Thank you
Fantastic. The meal was delicious. Our server Luanne was knowledgeable about the food, didn't hover and had a genuine smile on her face. The pumpkin soup appetizers should be on the menu as a main as it was fantastic. My only criticism is no bread basket, then it would have been the perfect meal. The wine list was good. The atmosphere was brilliant, everyone having a good time. We would love to go back again next time we visit Mt Gambier. I do recommend booking as it is very popular.
Food was amazing. My beautiful dessert was a work of art. Our wonderful host Angelina was also lovely
