We went tonight as a table of five for my partners birthday. We were served by Beth and we can’t praise her enough, she helped with everything and always had a smile on her face (even with all our questions!). The food was brilliant and well priced. Beth, you were amazing! Thank you so much :)
Deeply impressed with the quality of the food, but also with the staff. Very nice and professional. Food was on the table shortly after ordering and it did not seem pre done/just heated. It was very fresh. I had a seabass with salad and a pollo milanese with salad. The only negative was the size of the fish. The pollo milanese was huge and very good. Desserts were very sweet, but that is a matter of taste. Most people like them that sweet.
Greeting on the door was swift, service was very good and pleasant. Attentive even during a clear busy period. The food is cooked in an open kitchen and adds to the atmosphere well, with the open flame pizza oven taking centre stage. The food arrived promptly but this was lacking in a little flavour. Table nibbles and a hot chocolate to finish was a nice touch.
Caitlin so nice and attentive even though she was working the floor alone, food amazing and great value for money, already planning our next trip back and we aren’t local to the restaurant
The food was very good really enjoyed the chorizo cabarnara, and my son enjoyed the meatballs and pasta but it was very spicy. We also enjoyed our deserts. The staff was really lovely and helpful especially with my dietary requirements to. I will definitely be back again whenever im in Hull.
Surprisingly good. Ordered the Ragu and Carbonara as mains. The Ragu came with fried basel, which was a nice inclusion, I do think though a touch of burrata would have elevated though and whilst adding truffle oil to Carbonara might offend a Roman, it worked very well and the actual pastas were cooked perfectly al dented. Enjoy a nice bottle of Sicilian red too.
Caitlin was amazing, ran the full restaurant single handed and the service was great. Attentive smiley and positive start to finish despite having 15 other tables in and 30+ guests. Will definitely be back
We visited this branch of Zizzi in Hull on a early Friday evening in mid November. Zizzi is a restaurant chain of choice for us we enjoy the food and the menu choices. We had booked a table and upon arrival were quickly shown to it by a member of staff. The restaurant wasn’t overly full at the time of our visit, the atmosphere was good and it was the right volume to have a conversation. The waiter who took our order was very polite and enthusiastic which was good to see. We had some questions regarding the special offers that you can get from the ‘Zillionaire’ app and although he didn’t know the answer he went and asked the question for us from another member of staff. We opted for a free starter using the points obtained in the app. This starter was the Fonduta Formaggi and it’s a favourite of my husband’s therefore he’s had it many times before. On this occasion however he was left a little disappointed, usually you get a lot of melted cheese to dip but this time around there was barely any in the pot. Have Zizzi changed the portion size of the dish? Or was it because they were aware we were redeeming points to pay for it as they state you should tell the waiter prior to ordering. Or perhaps on this occasion we were just unlucky. I must state we didn’t question it at the time as we had another engagement later on in the evening we needed to make so therefore just accepted it. However on our next visit I’ll be paying close attention to how much we get next time! Moving onto the mains and these were really good, the pizza delicious and the pasta dish was very tasty. Zizzi were running an offer at the time of our visit in the app of buy a main dish get a pasta dish for free! It made the whole experience a little more special knowing what a great deal this was that we could take advantage of. Zizzi does offer great promotions and we enjoyed taking this one up as one of us ate a main meal for free! Overall our experience in this branch of Zizzi was great, we have been here before and found the service to be good and staff to be friendly and welcoming. If we had more time we probably would have had desserts. When asking for the bill it was brought promptly and our discount codes were applied from the app. A swift payment transaction was taken too. Overall the staff were very nice throughout and we enjoyed our visit.
